About Our Practice
The Hand & Upper Extremity Center of Georgia is the Southeast’s preeminent practice dedicated to providing hand and upper extremity care to patients of all ages. The practice (formerly The Hand Treatment Center) was founded in 1973 by Dr. Loui G. Bayne, one of the nation’s pioneers in pediatric and adult hand surgery.
The fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeons of the practice are noted experts in treating all injuries/problems affecting the elbow, forearm, hand, and wrist. They also specialize in treating injuries of the brachial plexus and peripheral nerves.
Each year, we treat over 10,000 patients—their well-being is our primary concern. From newborns with congenital differences and teenagers with sports injuries to adults with arthritis, our physicians provide the highest level of nonsurgical and surgical care.
At each visit, our patients are seen by a physician—not a nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant. Therefore, every decision about your care is made directly by your physician. And if you require surgery, that same physician will be the one performing your surgery and guiding your care from start to finish.
For over four decades, the physicians of The Hand & Upper Extremity Center of Georgia have been sought out for their expertise. Let our team provide you and your family with the very best care.
