Dr. Erika Templeton specializes in the surgical and nonsurgical care of hand, wrist, elbow, and nerve conditions in all ages. She is fellowship-trained in hand and upper extremity surgery in both adults and children. Dr. Templeton enjoys guiding treatment for patients with all types of upper extremity concerns, including trauma, arthritis, congenital, sports-related injuries, and more.
Dr. Templeton earned both her bachelor of science degree and her master's degree in physiology at Michigan State University before she attended medical school at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. After medical school, she completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Duke University School of Medicine before she elected to receive additional training through a hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship at the Philadelphia Hand Center/Thomas Jefferson University and Shriners Hospital for Children – Philadelphia. Following her hand and upper extremity fellowship, Dr. Templeton chose to undergo further training with another fellowship at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital, where she specialized in treating pediatric hand trauma, congenital differences, cerebral palsy, and brachial plexus birth injuries.
She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Pediatric Hand Study Group, and Alpha Omega Alpha.
Dr. Templeton is originally from Canton, Ohio, and feels very lucky to call Atlanta home.
