Dr. Gary Lourie and Dr. Allan Peljovich Published in The Journal of Hand Surgery
Dr. Gary Lourie and Dr. Allan Peljovich recently had an article published in The Journal of Hand Surgery entitled “Outcomes of Operative Treatment of Triangular Fibrocartilage Tears in Pediatric and Adolescent Athletes.”
Dr. Lourie and Dr. Peljovich were two of four authors who worked on the article, which covers their study on the outcomes of young athletes with surgically treated triangular fibrocartilage complex tears as well as their ability to return to their previous activity level without problems.
"The lead author, Felicity Fishman, was our first pediatric hand fellow,” says Dr. Peljovich, “and this publication is the fruit of the research project she did as part of her fellowship training.”
The Hand & Upper Extremity Center of Georgia is one of a few centers in the country that trains pediatric hand surgeons, who will go on to staff various pediatric hospitals across the country.
