Wrist Doctor
Our fellowship-trained and board-certified orthopedic wrist surgeons are known throughout Georgia and the Southeast for their specialized knowledge and training to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of hand and wrist injuries and conditions in patients of all ages.
A complex joint, the wrist, or bridge from the hand to the forearm, gives our hands mobility and flexibility to move up and down as well as left and right while also allowing for twisting and rotating movements. However, when pain in the wrist becomes severe or the wrist is injured, patients should see a doctor to evaluate their injury or condition.
At The Hand & Upper Extremity Center of Georgia, our focus, experience, and training give us the expertise and skill to provide exceptional medical care for nearly every wrist injury or condition for adults as well as children. From a simple injury to a complex condition, we can assess, diagnose, and provide treatment for several injuries and conditions of the wrist including the following common wrist injuries and conditions. Know When It's Time to Visit a Wrist Doctor
If you think your pain may be due to a wrist injury or condition or if you are experiencing any of the symptoms described below, you should contact a wrist doctor near you:
- Pain associated with twisting or rotating the wrist
- Pain radiating through the wrist into the thumb or fingers
- Sensations of pins and needles or tingling
- Signs of swelling or weakness
- Wrist pain when straightening the wrist
You should also see a wrist doctor if you have a fever or if your skin reddens, becomes warmer, and/or becomes more sensitive since you could have an infection. Because most people use their wrist constantly throughout the day, wrist pain usually does not go away unless it is properly diagnosed and treated by a wrist doctor.
