Dr. Peljovich Leads Research at Atlanta Site for Nationwide Study
In a significant development aimed at enhancing the care for children with birth differences, the Congenital Upper extremity Limb Disorders (CoULD) observational study has expanded its network to include The Hand & Upper Extremity Center of Georgia, in collaboration with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). Dr. Allan Peljovich has been appointed as the principal investigator at the Atlanta site, with Brianna Bal and Jack Gersten as the research assistants and also CHOA lending research support. This is the only center for the CoULD study in the Southeast.
The CoULD study, initially launched at Washington University in St. Louis and Boston Children's Hospital in Boston, has now grown to encompass 14 centers nationwide. These centers have been carefully selected for their expertise in providing specialized care to children with birth differences affecting the hand and upper extremities.
Dr. Peljovich, a prominent figure in the field of pediatric upper extremity orthopedic surgery, will lead the CoULD study's efforts at The Hand & Upper Extremity Center of Georgia. His extensive experience and dedication to improving the lives of children with congenital limb disorders make him a valuable addition to the CoULD team.
The inclusion of The Hand & Upper Extremity Center of Georgia in the CoULD study network is expected to bring significant benefits to the Southeastern region. CoULD's mission is to advance the field of pediatric orthopedics by conducting comprehensive observational studies. These studies aim to improve the quality of life for children born with upper extremity limb disorders through research, innovative therapies, and collaborative efforts among leading medical institutions.
The CoULD study continues to represent a beacon of hope for families dealing with congenital limb differences, offering promising prospects for improved care and treatment outcomes. With The Hand & Upper Extremity Center of Georgia now on board, this vital initiative takes another step forward in its mission to provide the best care possible to children with birth differences.
Join us in congratulating Dr. Peljovich on this amazing accomplishment!
